Cambridgeshire-based Turners (Soham) has decked out two brand-new trailers with branding from children’s brain tumour charity Tom's Trust to help raise awareness of the cause and encourage much-needed donations.
Both 13.6m Gray and Adams trailers were built in Fraserburgh, Scotland and the graphics were designed and printed by Owen Pilling Graphics.
The first trailer, which made its debut last week at the TTP Cambridge Half Marathon, features Mimi (pictured), 11, a little girl who was first diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2013 at the age of three and is supported by Tom’s Trust. The second trailer features Tom Whiteley, who the charity is named after. Tom died at the age of nine to a brain tumour in 2010, and his parents co-founded the charity in 2011.
Debs Mitchell, Tom’s mum and Tom’s Trust co-founder, said: “We expect over the next 10 years we’ll see thousands of pounds donated to the charity thanks to Turners. We are so incredibly grateful to them for being so generous and it’s a very exciting occasion for the charity as we’ve never had such a huge amount of physical advertising before and the lorries look incredible.”
Andrew Scarlett, senior operations manager at Turners, ran the TTP Cambridge Half Marathon for the charity, and offered the trailer advertising to Tom’s Trust. Alongside his payroll manager colleague Tracy Canham, they have so far raised more than £1,400 for the cause and hope to increase this over the coming weeks.
Turners (Soham) MD Paul Day said the new trailers will be used in the fleet in operations across the UK for around 10 years.
