Wordsworth Excavations of Barnsley is expanding its fleet with new Volvo FMX 8x4s and Volvo FH tractor units which have both been fitted with Binotto hydraulics.

The firm focuses on bulk earthworks, excavation and site clearance, and has opted for 420hp FMXs with Thompsons steel bodies and 500hp turbo compound FHs to be used with tipping trailers.

Wordsworth Excavations are long term customers of Binotto and have fitted their last 30 rigid tippers with Binotto combined ram and tank TFC145 tipping gears.

“Whatever trucks we have, Binotto tips them” said plant manager Craig Lofthouse.

“Our eight wheelers, tractors and trailers are all fitted with Binotto hydraulics and tipping gears. When something is reliable, fully proven and comes with proper backup, we like to standardise on it. That way, we keep things simple - which in this industry is a definite advantage.”

For the artics, Wordsworth’s six new FH tractor units were equipped with Binotto wet kits to power up the MFC 169 tipping cylinders on Wilcox multi-purpose trailers.

Binotto, managing director Pete Vann said, “Wordsworth  Excavations continues to be one our long-standing showcase customers, one which has developed into a particularly strong relationship. Their trucks daily demonstrate all the qualities inherent in the Binotto range of tipping equipment.”
