14 new Fruehauf tipper trailers for 3R Solutions

3R Solutions has taken delivery of 14 new Fruehauf sloper smoothsider tippers. The order, which was 3R Solutions’ first from Fruehauf, was delivered quickly to increase capacity for a new contract. The Fruehauf tipping trailers were built at Freuhauf’s Grantham site and prepared for the customer in a matter of weeks. 

David Ireland, 3R Solutions owner, said: “We had just secured a new contract and I needed the tippers promptly. I contacted the team at Fruehauf and they really stepped up, providing us with these fantastic smoothsiders from their Ready to Go stock. The fact we were also able to have them expertly liveried in our company colours was a major bonus. It’s fair to say that Fruehauf really came up trumps for us.”

The waste management and recycling specialist will use the tippers to move anaerobic digestion feedstocks. To suit this work, the trailers have an extra waterproof seal to make tipping easier and cleaner. 3R Solutions runs a fleet of circa 20 tippers, 45 tractor units and 40 tankers. The fleet delivers waste management solutions to a range of industries across the UK. 

Reflecting on the company’s first experience with Fruehauf, Ireland said: “It’s been first-class from start to finish. Nothing has been too much trouble. The new smoothsider trailers are built to last and look great on the road, helping to promote the business and bolster our reputation.”

Fruehauf was acquired by MV Commercial in 2021. The acquisition involved a commitment to revitalise Fruehauf’s 73-acre site in Grantham which manufactures products including sloper smoothsider trailers and step frame bathtub tippers. The facilities continue to be modernised to  secure the future of the manufacturing site. Alongside standard stock, Fruehauf also produces specialist units with its in-house engineering, fabrication and livery application facilities.
