This week’s used truck of the week is a 2010-registered 6x2 Scania R480.
This truck, FJ60 AYC, was registered in October 2010, and it’s clocked more than 403,000km in its first life.
It has the DC13 12.7-litre Euro-5 driveline which boasts 480hp and 2,500Nm torque, and it has a manual transmission plus a Retarder. The 6x2 configuration is a tag axle; there is also a sliding fifth-wheel and a 500-litre fuel tank.
The driver gets the high-roof sleeper cab option as well as air-conditioning. Part of the original specification includes fog and spot lights fitted into the bumper and two lights above the windscreen.
Scania still enjoy a strong residual bounce based on the name alone, and with Euro-6 on the horizon this truck will be at its optimum for another three years at least.

Tag axle tractors retain a loyal following, and while it lacks the Topline cab and all the refinements that go with it, the sleeper cab is a decent alternative. And with 2,500Nm torque to back up the 480hp, this is a truck with oomph.
