2011 Euro-5 MAN TGX: Laurie Dealer’s used truck of the week

February 28, 2013

This week’s used truck of the week is a 2011-registered MAN TGX.

The Euro-5 emission standard is reached by exhaust gas recirculation (EGR). It has the D20 engine produces 440hp and 2,100Nm, which the highest ratings for the 10.5-litre driveline. It comes with the 12-speed ZF Tipmatic automated transmission and the XLX sleeper cab, which is the mid-sized option.

This truck is being sold by Dawsonrentals’ used truck division NTTS (National Truck and Trailer Sales). While there isn’t too much detail, its age and spec alone is enough to make this week’s star buy. This is essentially a big truck with a small and efficient engine, which is a favourite specification among the rental companies.

MAN has a burgeoning reputation in the used truck market for generating short-term lease, rental and buy-back deals for new products and putting quality, late-year trucks back in the market place.

It allowed MAN some influence on the flow of vehicles going back into the used sector, and cash in on rising demand ahead of the Euro-6 deadline at the end of the year. NTTS appear to have taken the same approach.

NTTS is the used sales arm of Dawsonrentals, and it’s based in Milton Keynes. Call 01908 513388 or go to www.ntts.co.uk for more information.
