2014 Volvo FH13 6x2 460 with Globetrotter cab: Commercial Motor’s used truck of the week

Truck of the week is this 2014 FH13 6x2 460 with Globetrotter cab from Volvo Used Trucks.

This 14-plate vehicle, which has been in service with a major operator, features 12-speed I-Shift transmission, Dynafleet package, cruise control, electronic climate control, top lockers and full catwalk. The FH, with 875,000km on the clock, is based at the firm’s Washington dealer point, and similar vehicles are also available at its facility in Coventry.

It has been maintained by Volvo since new, has had a recent major service, and comes with a six-month basic driveline warranty, safety inspection and valet. Carl White national sales and brand manager at Volvo Used Trucks said: “So confident is Volvo in the longevity of the product and the quality of the preparation that even at this mileage we are prepared to cover the vehicle for a further six months with a manufacturer’s driveline warranty.

“This is a safe choice for operators on a budget looking to move into a modern vehicle without taking the risk of buying without cover.” White said he has witnessed part-exchange FHs with up to 2 million kilometres on the clock returned, which then go on to work with other operators.

He added: “In recent times we’ve seen average annual mileages on vehicles increase as companies look to utilise their assets to the maximum. Because of this there are more examples of vehicles like this one; ones that are relatively young but with mileage beyond the norm.”

The truck is available for £27,950 ex-VAT.
