Maritime Transport’s used trucks business, Secondhand Trucks, sells vehicles that it has owned and operated from new.
The Felixstowe-based operator has this 2015 Volvo FH13 6x2 tractor unit with mid-lift axle and Globetrotter cab for sale, which has undertaken container and curtain-sided work. The 15-plate vehicle, which includes full Volvo main dealer service history, 12-month MoT and warranty of up to 36 months, produces 500hp, includes I-Shift automatic transmission, EBS, air management kit, 550-litre tank, sliding fifth wheel and cruise control.
The vehicle has a double bunk, fridge, forward-facing camera, heated driver’s seat, microwave and leather trim. Secondhand Trucks fleet sales general manager Matt Heath said: “The truck has averaged approximately 130,000km per year, 95% of which were motorway miles, and it is barely run in.”
Heath said the company has both Euro-5 and Euro-6 examples of the FH13 available, producing 460hp or 500hp.“By owning the trucks we know what we are selling and we are able to offer a true reflection of whole-of-life cost, mpg, residual values on all the marques we operate and then sell,” he said.
“This allows our buyers to make a decision on which truck will best meet the demands of their business. We can also tell what will be available for sale in the next three years, even by registration. This sets us apart from other truck sellers in the UK: we know what we’re selling.”
