Oakland Distribution has taken delivery of 30 new Renault Trucks T480 6x2 pusher turbo compound tractor units. The vehicles join a fleet of 57 vehicles and the order includes a flagship truck to mark Oakland International’s 25th anniversary. Supplied by Renault Truck Commercials, the T480 tractors are on three-year repair and maintenance contracts.

Martin Pearson, distribution director at Oakland Distribution said: “The purchase of these thirty new vehicles builds on a solid and long-standing commercial partnership that enhances the Renault Trucks fleet already in operation. From order to delivery, the team at Renault Truck Commercials did an outstanding job and we thank them for supporting our unique, 25th anniversary vehicle with its enhanced specification and livery. The vehicles are on a 36-month repair and maintenance package, providing peace of mind knowing our trucks are in safe hands and we look forward to building our relationship with the Renault Truck Commercials team.”

The trucks replace existing Renault vehicles and will be based out of depots in Redditch, Corby, Bardon and Skelmersdale. Paired with single and double-deck trailers, the T480s will transport chilled goods across the country, working seven days a week, year round. Turbo compound technology is designed to optimise fuel economy and the vehicles are equipped with optivision map based gear shifting and eco cruise control with optiroll.

Pearson said: “We selected the Turbo Compound following extensive trials that demonstrated its fuel economy, a true game-changer for our operation. Its exceptional fuel consumption streamlines our operations, making our fleet both more efficient and sustainable.”

Interior cab upholstery across the 30 trucks is finished in red and the drivers benefit from four-point cab air suspension, memory foam mattress topper, air conditioning, leather steering wheel, heated and ventilated driver’s seat, additional storage and an electric sun blind.

Pearson added: “Driver feedback has been very positive. The trucks are comfortable to drive, extremely easy to handle, and have exceptionally spacious cabs; the drivers have nothing but praise for them. This positive driver feedback on comfort and overall experience, together with the dealer’ support and Turbo Compound’s impressive fuel economy, made the selection of Renault Trucks an easy decision.”
