The cold chain storage specialist McCulla Ireland has taken delivery of 33 new Schmitz Cargobull S.KO COOL SMART temperature-controlled semi-trailers.

Supplied by Kevin Wynd, regional sales manager at Schmitz Cargobull, the order features single and multi-temperature units.

Brian Beattie, operations director at McCulla Ireland, said: “We took our first two semi-trailers from Schmitz Cargobull in 2008 having been exclusively with another manufacturer before. The trailers we’ve had in the years since have all proved to be robust products with great longevity and build quality.

“We had an issue a few years back and they fixed it very quickly. The customer service they provide is excellent, and the level of attention you receive from their team throughout the process is impressive. It really is a partnership.”

In the event that damage happens, the trailers have a segmented design so individual panels can be replaced rather than the whole side of the trailer. McCulla’s newest trailers are equipped with Schmitz Cargobull’s TrailerConnect telematics system. The units also have a galvanised MODULUS bolted chassis which has a 10-year warranty to cover any rust-through on galvanised components.

Later in the year Schmitz Cargobull will supply McCulla with a ‘pharmaceutical specification’ S.KO trailer. The unit features advanced load security and will be fitted with a double deck loading beam system. The order specification was designed for a particular McCulla customer so capacity is set to be 66 pallets per load.

McCulla is a family owned business headquartered in Lisburn, near Belfast. This year marks the company’s 55th anniversary. It operates three cold stores with a total capacity of 15,000 pallets. Temperature controlled services also extend to blast freezing and tempering operations alongside transport and storage solutions.

Schmitz Cargobull’s core product offering includes semi-trailers for temperature-controlled freight, general cargo and bulk goods. Other services cover financing, spare parts, service contracts, telematics solutions and used vehicle sales.

Schmitz Cargobull will be exhibiting at Road Transport Expo, which takes place at NAEC Stoneleigh between 4-6 June. Registrations are now open, so book your free place now!
