September 14, 2016

My favourite holiday destination is…

The south of Italy.

I drive a…

Volvo V40 R Design.

My hobbies include…

Football (playing and coaching). I also recently bought a boat.

I got into the industry when…

I got a job in a well-known local transport company called Dukes Transport as a fleet administrator, which I really enjoyed, so decided to stick at it. A few years later the company was bought by the Montgomery Group and at that time it had the franchise for Renault Trucks.

To encourage more young people into the industry we should…

Emphasise that if you are willing to roll your sleeves up and muck in, opportunities will open up for you. You get to meet so many personalities and characters and two days are never the same. It’s a fast-paced industry but also rewarding.

The outlook for our sector over the next 12 months is…

Hard to predict, but we have to keep our heads down and keep providing the service required and see what the year brings. We are into our second year under Setanta Group ownership, which has seen an increase in business for us. It’s important that we work hard to maintain that business, as well as looking for opportunities.
