Debuting what it believes will be the future of vehicle logistics, Brain James Trailers has revealed its new RT7 trailer. At 200kg lighter than an equivalent RT6 model, this is the company’s solution to vehicles getting increasingly heavier with no change to legal towing limits.

The enclosed car transporter trailer is available in black or white with tri- or twin-axle configurations and extra height can be added as an optional upgrade. The twin-axle option has bed lengths of 5.5m and 6m and widths of 2.1m and 2.3m. The model is now available to pre-order and starts from £25,500 plus VAT, rising up to £40,000 for larger models equipped with extras.

Lewis James, CEO of Brian James Trailers, said: “With exceptional specification and a lighter, stronger, smarter design, the RT7 takes enclosed car transport to a new level. Whether for supercar exotics, motorsport, classics or vehicle logistics, the RT7 is the ultimate choice.”

Fitted with an electric actuator, the rear door and tilt bed can be operated with a wireless remote. This affords the trailer a low ground clearance and additional ramp options can be specified to load extremely low vehicles. An onboard battery powers this mechanism along with an electric winch, and interior lighting. The battery has bluetooth connectivity to display its current state of charge remotely via a mobile phone and comes with a charger.

LED lighting comes as standard at the rear, front and side with side mounted reversing lights and automatic rear loading lights. The winch features a synthetic rope and can be upgraded from the factory to a 9,500lb version. Standard equipment includes diamond-cut anthracite alloy wheels, composite flooring and body-coloured aluminium side door trim. The body is composite glass reinforced plastic thanks to a partnership with Quantum Mouldings which also led bodywork development for the Ultima RS sports car.
