The new DAF XB has made its show debut at Solutrans in France, after the announcement of thew new city distribution truck was made in the summer.
The 12-tonne XB Electric took centre stageat the show as the starting point in the new range for the zero emission truck, with 16-tonne and 19-tonne options also available. Diesel variants of the XB will have the option of gross vehicle weights from 7.5- to 19-tonnes.
The new DAF XB Electric is available with an electric motor providing either 120kW or 190kW of nominal power and constant torque ratings of 950Nm and 1,850Nm, peaking at 2,600Nm and 3,500Nm, respectively. The batteries are made from lithium ferro phosphate (LFP) with battery pack options from 141kWh to 282kWh, and are free from cobalt and magnesium. The XB Electric has a claimed range of up to 350km.
