The “S-WAY phenomenon” helps Iveco achieve its strongest year in the UK for more than a decade

Iveco has had its strongest year in over a decade, which it says is partly down to what it describes as the “S-WAY phenomenon”.

“There can be no doubt in anyone's mind that today's Iveco heavy truck range is a total winner,” says Gareth Lumsdaine, business line director of truck at Iveco. “It's attracting the kind of stares and attention normally reserved for the Swedish brands - and we're delighted about that because S-WAY and its more recently launched X-WAY stablemate deserve it!”

Last year Iveco revised the S-WAY (pictured), and the first of these are just hitting the UK’s roads now. Promising an overall reduction in fuel consumption “of up to 3%”, they feature Euro-6e Cursor engines, with increased compression ratios and a new combustion management strategy. The 13-litre, now also offered at 490hp and 530hp, is coupled to new, high-efficiency single-reduction rear axles, and longer rear axle ratios down to 2.31:1 are available.

Iveco will be exhibiting at Road Transport Expo at NAEC Stoneleigh (30 June to 2 July), where you will have a chance to drive the new S-WAY. Register now for FREE
