Hiab has launched two new multilift hooklifts, the Mutilift Ultima 28Z and the Multilift Ultima Zero. The Mutilift Ultima 28Z has a 28-tonne lifting capacity. Its simple operation makes it a good fit for operators with multiple drivers for the same vehicle. As part of Hiab’s Z range, Ultima 28Z has a low loading angle which makes it suitable for handling fragile goods and operating in environments with limited height clearance.
The Multilift Ultima Zero is an option for Ultima hooklifts with 20-tonne to 30-tonne capacity. For operators looking to reduce their carbon footprints, Zero models are made with low-emission recycled steel. Up to 25 percent of the steel structure is made from recycled steel and an electric arc furnace powered by renewable electricity is used in the process. Using renewables reduces the associated production carbon emissions by 15 percent.
Ultima Zero combined with Hiab’s performance package can continue to reduce emissions during use by up to 25 percent. This system minimises noise and emissions by enabling the hooklift to be operated with fewer revolutions per minute of the truck engine and faster operations.
Henri Janhonen, vice president of sales and product management and demountables at Hiab, said: “For many customers sustainability is a key purchase criterion alongside productivity and safety. We’re proud to give customers the option to purchase hooklifts made with recycled steel that has a significantly lower carbon footprint. As part of our dedication to sustainability, we’re always looking at creating solutions to reduce energy consumption, such as expanding capacity or the performance package.”
Hiab’s range also includes loader cranes Effer and Argos, truck mounted forklifts Moffett and Princeton, Loglift forestry cranes, its Jonsered range of recycling cranes, Multilift skiploaders and hooklifts, Galfab roll-off cable hoists and Zepro, Del and Waltco branded tail lifts.
