Dewsbury-based family firm A Davies Transport has unveiled plans to move to a larger site near Barnsley in May.

The new location incorporates a 55,000ft² warehouse and four-bay workshop with three full-size pits, which sales manager Shaun Frain said would be used to expand on the company’s currently small storage and vehicle maintenance services.

The five-year-old company, which runs a fleet of 13 artics and two 17.5 tonners on general haulage work and covers the WF postcode for the Pall-Ex pallet network, is also planning to take on international work.

It is also considering establishing itself as an authorised testing facility at the new site, said Frain.

“Some of the customers we presently work for do have international locations, so a lot of it will hopefully be a natural extension to what we’re already doing,” he said.
