Essex, southeast and east of London has a new official Iveco Truck and Van dealer, its Acorn Truck Sales.

The Harris Group company is based at Crayford, Kent, a decent stone’s throw from the Queen Elizabeth II Bridge (or Dartford Crossing). From here it will deliver a 24-hour operation for sales, servicing and parts.

Darren Brown, sales dealer principal, said it’s not every day you get to take on the franchise for a manufacturer that has just won International Truck of the Year 2013 and has such a strong line-up of products on offer. He added the 1.1-acre Crayford site includes a modern workshop featuring six full-length bays, plus an on-site brake roller tester and tachograph calibration facilities.

“The dealership is open 24 hours a day, five days a week, and until midday on weekends, and given our close proximity to the centre of London, we see great potential in particular for Iveco’s natural gas range of light, medium and heavy trucks, not to mention its hybrid drivelines,” he added.

Supporting the Crayford site will be a LCV sales, service and parts dealership in West Thurrock, Essex, as well as two authorised repairers at sister company PCL Eastern in Witham, and at Dagenham Motors in Barking.

Acorn, who also run a Hino franchise, and PCL are part of The Harris Group, which includes Daf Trucks dealer Harris Daf, and petroleum transport company Suckling Transport.

Marco Leonardi, Iveco UK network director, added: “Acorn Truck Sales is part of a group of companies with almost a century of experience in the transport industry. They have an impressive track record and see real potential for Iveco to grow in this strategically important territory.”
