Acumen Automotive Logistics has been awarded a contract to transport London taxis for manufacturer LTI Vehicles.

Under the deal, Acumen will carry finished vehicles from Coventry and deliver to LTI Vehicles' DC in Wellesbourne, Warwickshire, on behalf of Ontime Automotive.

Approximately 2,500 taxis each year will be delivered to customers in London and other UK cities by Acumen.

The car transport firm will take delivery of up to five new HGVs for the contract, and also use the specialist trucks acquired through its purchase of Auto UK Logistics in September 2009.

"We are delighted to be associated with such an iconic brand, which further expands our involvement in the UK automotive logistics sector," says Chris Doughty, managing director at Acumen.

The firm would not reveal the value of the contract.
