Hampshire’s Alan Knight Transport has joined Pallet-Track covering the GU postcode.

The Liphook-based firm, set up in 1993 by MD Alan Knight, runs 35 vehicles and the chilled operations specialist previously covered the same area for United Pallet Network (UPN).

Knight says: “Moving to the Pallet-Track network is a major development for our company, and will open up exciting opportunities going forward.

“We are looking forward to our business plans to increase the company’s prominence in the palletised freight industry."

Although Alan Knight Transport had only been working with UPN since last October, Knight says the split was amicable and the opportunity afforded by Pallet-Track suited its business better. Under the new arrangement it won’t be travelling into London’s Low Emission Zone, which would have required additional investment in compliant vehicles.

Knight says pallet work accounts for around 20% of the firm’s total business.
