Schmitz Cargobull has supplied automotive parts specialist Alcaline with 10 new mega-coiler curtainsiders and five mega Euroliners.

The trailers come with Varios Top Technology allowing the haulier to alter roof heights to comply with different regulations across Europe. Each one is built on a Modulus bolted chassis, certified to EN12642XL load retention standards.

Alcaline, based in Hythe, Kent, has trailer fleet of 147, all of them Schmitz Cargobull, which transport automotive parts from Belgium, France, Italy and the Netherlands to the UK.

Lorenzo Zaccheo, MD of Alcaline, said: “Using Schmitz Cargobull equipment has always saved us time and money, and their height-adjustable trailers mean we can work smarter and more efficiently. As we don’t need to buy certain trailers to work in certain countries, they also simplify operational planning.”

All of the trailers come with 10-year warranties against rust-through on all galvanised parts. “The easy maintenance, low wear and tear, parts availability and Modulus chassis make Schmitz Cargobull trailers excel amongst others”, Zaccheo said.

“We’ve got some Schmitz Cargobull assets that we’ve used for a decade and still in excellent condition. However, given we’ve got a lot of work in mainland Europe, we need a service network we can trust wherever we are, and Schmitz Cargobull is the only trailer manufacturer that can offer us that support.”
