All about the service for used truck dealer Smith Bros

Truck dealer Smith Bros Services Ltd has four used trucks for sale on its stand at RTX 2024.

Will Pringle, sales director, says the Warrington-based dealers’ decision to attend RTX for the first time is to meet new customers and network.

Smith Bros sold 950 trucks last year, he reports, with owners William Stobart and Allan Jenkinson the chief vehicle suppliers.

“WS Transportation works on a one-year replacement cycle for their trucks, whereas AW Jenkinson will replace a truck every three years. Although, if there is demand, we can go in and take a truck off their fleet,” he explains. “We get around 10 trucks each week from AW Jenkinson.”

Smith Bros is the only independent dealer that can transfer across repair and maintenance agreements, with the work carried out by Haydock Commercials.

Pringle concludes: “We are all about service. I’d say 70% of our customers don’t even need to come and see the truck before they buy it, because they trust us.”
