Allied Electric has added two new models to its line-up of all-electric LCVs.
The eBipper and ePartner showcases Allied's aspiration of becoming a leading electric LCV manufacturer and competing with the mainstream manufacturers like Renault which is expected to produce an electric version of its Kangoo van next year.
Allied Electric MD Paul Nelson says: "The launch of these two zero-emission vehicles completes our full range of Peugeot LCVs, from Bipper to Boxer. Electric vehicle orders have been building steadily and we hope to tap into further market segments with the introduction of these smaller, all-electric models."
The smaller eBipper retains most of the donor vehicle's attributes of practicality, build quality and loadspace, but does give away 235kg on payload, which stands at 375kg, due to the weight of the batteries.
Range is estimated to be up to 70 miles on a full charge.
Allied claims the ePartner has the same range as its smaller sibling, but with the larger dimensions it can carry more (549kg) weight or volume with 3.7m3 of loadspace.
The battery in the eBipper is charged through a single-phase socket that plugs into a household socket, while the ePartner must be topped-up using a commercial three-phase connector.
