Allison Transmission has appointed HL Smith Transmissions and Driveline Technology to its UK service network.

Wolverhampton-based HL Smith Transmissions, which supplies commercial vehicle parts, joins Allison’s network as an authorised direct rebuilder, with the authority to remanufacture transmissions. The company has maintained transmissions for the Ministry of Defence’s logistics fleet for 25 years.

Meanwhile, Driveline Technology, a specialist in servicing and repairing automatic transmissions for heavy and light commercial vehicles, will be an authorised direct dealer. The Willenhall-based firm will provide customers with servicing, on-site repairs and parts.

Allison’s long-standing distributor Mitchell Powersystems will continue to cover the UK and Ireland as authorised distributor.

Andrew Bonam, Europe, the Middle East and Africa director of customer support and channel development at Allison, said: “By growing the service network in the UK, we will increase customer engagement, providing more convenient access to parts and service, and affirming our commitment to reducing the total cost of ownership.

“Both HL Smith Transmissions and Driveline Technology, like Mitchell Powersystems, are highly experienced service providers.”
