Allports win deal worth more than £1.0m with CM Downton

In all, Laurie Dealer understands, the deal is for 17 Renault Premium 460.25 6x2 trucks for the Pets At Home contract.

Mark Sanders, Allports Group MD, says the vehicles will replace older ones and go onto a three-year full repair and maintenance agreement, with the work carried out at the group's Stoke on Trent service centre in Fenton.

"We're delighted to be working with CM Downton," says Sanders. "It's a substantial contract win and really shows the strength of our offering.

"As well as the vehicles and maintenance agreement, we will be supplying driver training and an Opti-Fuel manager package, which provides detailed information on all the aspects of vehicle and driver performance, ensuring cost-effective operation throughout the contract's term."

These sorts of deals are vital revenue streams for the franchised dealers, says Laurie Dealer, as it fills vital workshop hours with servicing and maintenance, and keeps the parts ticking over too. What is more it gets truck back on part-exchange with a known history.

Commercial Motor will have more in its 5 May 2011 edition.
