Trailer and body manufacturer Andover Trailers has bodied a Volvo FM380 8x4 rigid for tractor and plant equipment producer Kubota. The custom-built 9.1m beavertail has a hardwood floor, hydraulic forward folding ramps, hydraulic steady legs and 14 pairs of lashing points around the centre and sides of the body.

Kubota will use the vehicle to transport excavators, diggers, compact mowers and tractors. Richard Harrison, Kubota UK managing director says Volvo recommended Andover Trailers. "Until recently we outsourced deliveries, which were made using vehicles fitted with rigid-mounted Andover Trailers bodies and were very impressed with the workmanship.

"By bringing our customer distribution in-house, it offers us greater flexibility to deliver a wider range of Kubota products on the vehicle to customers - something we have not been able to do before.

"The new vehicle is plated at 32 tonnes and allows us to move two large 130 hp tractors at the same time, giving us the option of being able to meet great customer demand in any region," he says.
