Online electrical retailer AO has taken delivery of 10 new CNG-powered Iveco S-WAY NPs.

The 4x2 tractor units, which were supplied by Fraikin on five-year, full-service contract hire agreements, join its 129-strong trunking fleet. They will run on compressed biomethane, and replace older, diesel-powered trucks.

The trucks have 1,052-litre fuel tanks, giving them a range of up to 380 miles on a full tank.

David Ashwell, MD of AO Logistics, says: “We’re thrilled to welcome the new CNG vehicles into our UK trunking fleet and continue our successful partnership with Fraikin. At AO Logistics, we are always looking at ways to improve our operation in terms of both sustainability and fuel efficiency – trialling these new Iveco tractor units is a fantastic step towards reducing our impact on the environment.”

They will clock up around 125,000km per annum, carrying appliances between the company’s depots in Crewe and North London.

Iveco will be exhibiting at Road Transport Expo at NAEC Stoneleigh (30 June to 2 July). Register now for FREE
