Apollo Tyres has expanded its EnduRace RA 2 truck tyre range. Designed for 22.5-inch rims, the new sizes are 295/80 and 315/80. The tyre has a compact tread pattern and wide contact patch to improve grip all year round. Low rolling resistance and good durability also make the tyre well suited to medium and long haul travel.
The new sizes continue to use Apollo’s invisible groove technology which ensures even as the tyre wears it maintains a high level of grip and traction. EnduRace has a three-peak mountain snowflake rating too.
In this tyre line compounding focuses on abrasion resistance and robustness. These two characteristics allow the operator to get more mileage out of the tyre and allows the tyre to perform better under load. In comparison to the first generation of EnduRace RA which was launched in 2021, EnduRace RA 2 offers 10% lower rolling resistance. Road noise has been reduced over the previous generation by 1bB, bringing it to 72dB overall. A 10% improvement in traction also sees the EnduRace RA 2 rated as B for wet grip. Following the release of EnduRace RA, the second generation was launched in 2023.
Yves Pouliquen, group head of sales and marketing at Apollo Tyres Europe, said: “The EnduRace has been an incredibly successful product line for us since it launched three years ago. Since then, we have focused our efforts on improving every aspect of the tyre so it caters to the evolving needs of our customers. The two new sizes will extend our reach in this highly competitive tyre segment and support our ambitious growth strategy for the wider TBR segment.”
Apollo Tyres has also recently launched a 385/55 R22.5 version of its EnduMile LHT long-haul trailer tyre which is now available across Europe.
