Runcorn-based axle weighing systems specialist Axtec has gained UK national approval for its 5000 dynamic axle weighbridge.
The firm said the 5000, which replaces the Axtec 4000 that has been in production since 1998, incorporates several innovations designed to improve accuracy and reliability.
Technology in the 5000 allows accurate determination of axle speed and direction, and it takes weight readings 64 times faster than its predecessor, said Axtec.
Its indicator is housed in a stainless steel enclosure, for external mounting, which minimises service costs. It also features a weatherproof touchscreen. Vulnerable and costly moving components are eliminated and the 5000 costs the same as the 4000.
The 5000 is compatible with Axtec peripheral equipment including external large displays, printers and wireless data links.
Axtec said this can significantly reduce installation time and means costs for ducting and wiring between components can be eliminated.
