Nottinghamshire-based B Taylor & Sons (Transport) has taken on coverage of part of the NG postcode for pallet network Pall-Ex, after nine years running for rival Fortec.

The haulier, which has grown to more than 180 vehicles and 250 trailers in size since being founded in 1974, operates from a site in Kirkby in Ashfield and is currently building a new headquarters in Huthwaite that will house its entire logistics team and function, including its international division.

Alan Taylor, MD of B Taylor & Sons (Transport) and son of founder Barry Taylor, said: “The decision to change pallet network did not come easily as we had been with the previous one for some nine years.

“However, once we saw the Pall-Ex operation and met the managerial team, we felt it was an opportunity to provide and improved and more professional service for customers.”

Steven Reed, development director at Pall-Ex expressed his deight at the haulier joining the network. “ We look forward to working together to stimulate even further growth for B Taylor & Sons and the Pall-Ex network as a whole,” he said.

B Taylor & Sons replaced B2B Logistics, which completed a pre-pack administration process last year.

Taylors Transport International, which is the international division of the Taylors group and operates from a site in Huthwaite, Nottinghamshire, remains a member of The Pallet Network and is not affected by the change at the domestic arm.

2012 was a busy year for the likes of the pallet networks including Pall-Ex and Fortec.
