BMI Vehicle Hire debuted its new landfill spec trailer at the Road Transport Expo. The company has expanded its hire fleet with these application-specific units. BMI specialises in the hire of trailers to the waste and recycling industry. Its latest fleet addition offers customers more options to rent to support their business needs.

Based on customer demand, the company plans to evaluate its fleet portfolio to further invest in specialised vehicles. BMI has a brand-agnostic approach to ensure a wide range of specifications to meet customer’s preferences and applications.

BMI is based in the West Midlands and covers trailer hire and leasing across the whole of the UK. Walking floor and ejector trailers are available for short or long term hire periods. The company runs a five-year renewal programme to keep its high-spec fleet fresh and up to date. Customers can also opt for 24/7 breakdown cover to minimise downtime.

Depending on requirements BMI offers spot hire or contract hire agreements. Spot hire gives customers the choice of walking floor and ejector trailers for anywhere from one week up to 24 months. Beyond this, contract hire is the next option. With a minimum commitment of three years, BMI can have trailers custom-built to a particular customer’s specification and liveried with their branding. This solution results in minimal capital expenditure and offers accurate monthly fees over an agreed period, helping businesses forecast and budget effectively.

BMI’s customers include Biffa, Suez, Tradebe, Bradford City Council, Ellgia, and Severn Waste Services.

At the Road Transport Expo BMI also displayed its aggregate walking floor trailer which is said to offer up to 40% more payload than a typical eight-wheel tipper truck. Brendan McIlvanna, MD at BMI, said: "Our team works very hard to develop solutions that not only meet, but exceed, our customers’ expectations. The new BMI aggregate spec walking floor trailer is testament to that.”
