The industrial gas company, BOC, now has a total of 135 Tiger Trailers vehicles on its fleet following the delivery of 59 new units in the first quarter of the year. Its latest additions include 29 trailers and 30 rigid vehicles. BOC uses flatbed trailers to move up to 26 BOC pintle pallets in three rows of 15 bottles and a central aisle with a portable safety gate that closes off the load when part-laden.

The pintle trailers will be put to work on BOC’s cylinder trunking operation across the UK, Ireland and Europe. Operated by Schenk UK for BOC, the trailers will move full and made-up loads.

BOC’s new rigid bodies from Tiger Trailers are mounted to DAF XB 18-tonne chassis supplied by the DAF dealer Ford & Slater in Leeds. These vehicles are designed to carry eight pallets and feature galvanised plates on all four sides, with a pressed steel fabricated and galvanised walkway down the middle, a large stowaway cylinder trolley fitted to the offside rear, and a kerb ramp. At the rear, there’s a 1-tonne Dhollandia DHVOG.15. K1 1000.800 tail lift.

Lorraine Purvis, BOC head of deliver - cylinder transport PGP, said: “The Tiger team has worked hard to deliver the needs of our business to a very high quality. The transport team is looking forward to integrating these vehicles into our fleet. I would like to thank them for their attention to detail and continued support they show us as a business. Also, a big thanks to Mark Beal our Fleet engineer who has worked tirelessly with Tiger to seek improvements on our fleet.”

Ignacio Torres-Manzi, Tiger Trailers’ technical sales manager, said: “It is a great privilege for us to work with another fantastic customer and continue building upon the working relationship. A huge thanks to the wider BOC team for the continued efforts, with a particular shout-out to Mark Beal for all his expertise offered into the process. We look forward to the continuation of Tiger being a key partner to BOC for hopefully many years to come!”

Hundreds of companies will be exhibiting at Road Transport Expo 2025, which takes place at NAEC Stoneleigh between 24-26 June. It’s free to attend and registrations are now open.
