Bower Green has updated its fleet with three Volvo FH Aero 460 with I-Save 6x2 tractor units. Supplied by Jason Robinson, area sales manager at Crossroads Truck and Bus, the new additions take the fleet of 24 vehicles up to 20 Volvo units. The FH Aeros will be put to work on general haulage jobs clocking up around 120,000km annually.

Alan Pattison, managing director at Bower Green, said: “We are thrilled to welcome the new FH Aeros to our fleet. Our relationship with Volvo Trucks is central to our operations and we’ve no doubts that this latest model will deliver the ongoing performance and reliability we’ve come to expect.

“The FH Aero’s new design was an immediate attraction for us and, when combined with our bold yellow and purple livery, the new trucks will certainly stand out on the road. The enhanced aerodynamics will contribute to improved fuel efficiency, plus they give the vehicle a modern and dynamic image that reflects our brand’s identity.”

Bower Green’s vehicles are fitted with alcoa dura-bright alloy wheels, roof-mounted light bars and twin air horns. The vehicles benefit from the longer Aero cab and camera monitoring system to improve aerodynamic efficiency, offering up to 5% emissions reductions.

Inside, the Globetrotter cabs have Drive+ and Living packages which add electronic air conditioning, dual armrests, leather upholstery, a cab parking heater, 33-litre fridge, and additional cab storage.

The FH Aeros are equipped with Euro-6 compliant engines with 460hp and a peak torque of 2,600Nm, paired with a 12-speed I-Shift automated gearbox and I-See predictive cruise control to further improve fuel economy.

Pattison said: “Our drivers have always been particularly impressed with the comfort and functionality of their Volvo cabs, which makes their time on the road much more enjoyable. The driving experience – especially the I-Shift gearbox – is second to none.”
