If the past 18 months have given us anything, it has been the lockdown haircut. And whether yours is wild and excessive or a do-it-yourself ‘trim’, the chance to solve whatever you have cultivated (or inadvertently hacked off) is being provided by Bri-Stor Systems, which has a mobile barber on its stand.

“We built the first mobile barber for a start-up company called Trim-It, which was set up in 2018. You book a haircut via an app, and they come to you,”explained Jack Draper, sales manager for Bri-Stor Systems.

Over 100 such systems have been produced on Peugeot Relay chassis so
far by the Stafford-based company, which will celebrate its 40th anniversary next year.

Bri-Stor is an accredited converter with all LCV manufacturers and the most recent large order has been 3,000 vans for British Gas based on Vauxhall Vivaro chassis, revealed Draper.

“Business is good, although the supply chain is extremely challenging,” he said. “Thankfully we have a strong order book and we are still privately owned. We take on 15 apprentices every year in an arrangement with local business JCB.”

For those not blessed with enough hair for a short back and sides, Bri-Stor Systems is also launching a new drop-side racking system on its stand.
