Yorkshire operator Brian Yeardley Continental has bought five Mega Liner curtainsiders from trailer manufacturer Krone because of their enhanced security measures.

Kevin Hopper, MD at Brian Yeardley Continental, says Krone built the trailers to meet its operational needs. "One of the main benefits of the Mega Liner for our operation was the option of armoured curtains and solid rear doors for additional security, along with its 100m3 capacity," he adds.

A strong specification is important as the company hauls plastics, chemicals and pharmaceuticals across the Continent. The five trailers have the Multi-Lock Side Rave load securing system with more than 3,000 strapping points and hydraulic lifting roof that allows for a maximum lift of 450mm.

The driver can also adjust the ride height of the trailer, 120mm at the front and 50mm at the rear, to improve fuel efficiency.

The deal means half of Brian Yeardley's 40-strong trailer fleet is Krone.
