Cambridgeshire-based double-deck temperature-controlled operator Buffaload Logistics has acquired 15 trailers from Gray & Adams.

The 13.6m tri-axle Gray & Adams double-deck refrigerated trailers come with Carrier Transicold Vector 1950 units and will operate from Buffaload’s four UK sites, the company’s Ellington headquarters as well as depots in Avonmouth, Wigan and Livingston.

Buffaload provides transport services for supermarket chains and the trailers are expected to operate 365 days a year. They will join the company’s 140-strong fleet, which includes more than 100 temperature-controlled double-deckers.

Buffaload sales director Graham Usher said the company chose the refrigeration units because of their durability and suitability for double-deck trailer operations.

“Carrier Transicold’s Vector 1950 system offers a perfect balance of reliability, low maintenance and high performance,” Usher said. “We can maximise capacity in our double-deck trailers, while minimizing reefer unit downtime and protecting the cold chain.”
