Bulky Bob's has acquired four new 7.5-tonne DAF LF45s as part of a fleet renewal programme.

Based in Liverpool and with operations in Oldham and Warrington, Bulky Bob's collects unwanted white goods and furniture from more than 50,000 households on behalf of local councils in the North-West, with 70% of items being recycled or re-used. The trucks feature 6.05m box-van bodies and tail-lifts fitted during build at the Leyland Trucks plant just up the M6 in Lancashire.

Regional operations manager, Helen Halpin, says the LF45s were chosen because of their EEV engine's green credentials and because the trucks were produced locally.

Halpin was named Woman of the Year in the 2010 everywoman Transport & Logistics Awards.
