Glasgow-based Bullet Express has bought 12 new DAF 6×2 tractor units and 11 new trailers on a three-year, full-service contract hire agreement from Asset Alliance.

Of the new DAF XF 530 Super Space Cab tractor units, eight will be operating out of Prestwick airport and have been liveried in the company’s blue and white branding. The units will work alongside four specialised aeroplane part carriers, working solely on their contract with Spirit AeroSystems, and will deliver wing parts to airports in Bristol, Chester and Nottingham.

The other four tractor units will also be livered but will work on Bullet Express’ trunking network and put into service by November, along with seven tri-axle Montracon curtainsiders.

David McCutcheon, Managing Director of Bullet Express, says: “Asset Alliance was the clear standout of all the suppliers we approached. They offered us the most comprehensive and cost-effective solution and were honest and straightforward throughout, delivering everything on time and as promised.

“Their approach to business – open, flexible and efficient – is a perfect match for our own, and they understand the importance of maximising fleet uptime throughout the contract. The customer service has been continually excellent, and we are already looking forward to replacing more of our fleet with them in the future.”
