Cavendish Ships Stores has taken delivery of four new temperature-controlled distribution vehicles with Trumac refrigerated bodies. These are fitted to Iveco Stralis 24-tonne and 26-tonne automated transmission chassis cabs, providing a payload of around 14.5 tonnes. The units have been supplied by Ryder Truck Rental on a five-year contract-hire agreement.

The multi-compartment Trumac refrigerated bodies are divided by a mattress bifold bulkhead with refrigeration provided by a Carrier Transicold Supra 950MT diesel overcab system and an aluminium platform Ratcliffe tail-lift.

The units are expected to complete approximately 10 drops per day, and this specification ensures temperatures of -18°C in the front compartment and 0-5°C in the rear. Cavendish Ships Stores is based in Dover from where it supplies cruise lines, ferry operators and world-famous vessels, such as the Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth.
