Cemex UK has taken delivery of 27 MAN TGXs to operate out of its 2-million-tonnes-a-year cement production plant in Rugby.

This takes the number of MANs on the Cemex cement logistics fleet to 60 – two-thirds of its total fleet – all specified to include additional safety equipment.

Cemex took the Safety in Operation title at this year's Motor Transport Awards. Dave Hart, national cement logistics and terminals manager at Cemex, said: “We enjoy a very healthy relationship with MAN, and have done so for many years. High on our agenda is fleet efficiency; uptime is critical and we have to know that MAN shares that commitment.”

He added that the support Cemex received from MAN Truck & Bus Nuneaton allowed the company to meet its fleet requirements.
