Frozen, chilled and ambient transport firm Chiltern Distribution has just brought its 100th trailer into operation. The Twin Frame 13.6m stepped-neck triaxle semi-trailer, supplied by Gray & Adams in a special 100th trailer livery, began work early last month.

It features BPW TS2 disc-braked axles with air suspension and a Thermo King Spectrum multi-temperature refrigeration unit, as well as an alloy chequerplate floor for enhanced durability and 3mm thick internal Kemlite GRP panels to protect the walls. It also has stainless steel rear-end aerodynamic cappings, alloy wheels and infilled sideguards.

Joining a total of 30 single and multiple-temperature Gray & Adams reefers in use at Chiltern Distribution, it will be used out of the firm’s Peterborough HQ for chilled and frozen food operations and pharmaceuticals distribution, and will cover up to 200,000km a year. Chiltern Distribution expects to run the trailer for at least eight years.
