CitySprint acquires Axa Courier Express

The largest privately owned same-day courier network, CitySprint, has acquired Axa Courier Express.  As part of the takeover, the Axa Courier Express name and brand will be discontinued and all Axa staff members will join CitySprint's Heathrow team.

CitySprint currently holds a 7% share of the UK same-day courier market and is one of the top five same-day courier networks in the world. Axa provides same-day courier services to businesses in the Heathrow area and has a large customer base, mainly consisting of freight forwarders.

Michael Blanchard, CitySprint regional manager, says: "Axa represents one of a small number of well-established, same-day courier companies in the Heathrow area.

"Its business model fits very comfortably with CitySprint's, as it operates with a highly focused customer service ethos."
