CitySprint has made its third acquisition in 12 months, purchasing Warwickshire-based On The Dot Courier for an undisclosed sum.

On The Dot has traded as CitySprint since 20 November, with all staff and couriers - including Stefan Law, one of On The Dot's founders - transferring to the firm's Midlands centre in Warwick.

CitySprint says On The Dot was established in 1985 and operated for local customers across the region as well as for several "prominent national accounts throughout the UK".

The acquisition follows the purchase of Telford, Shropshire-based Jaguar Couriers in August. The company says it has also bought another company during the past 12 months.

"The Midlands is an area of strategic commercial importance and over the past 12 months we have been able to significantly enhance our service coverage here. Our Midlands fleet has increased by 50% approaching 150 dedicated couriers, which is a vital element in ensuring we are able to professionally support our national and local customers alike," says Ben Haynes, CitySprint's managing director, regions.
