Scania dealer West Pennine Trucks had a selection of smart trucks at its Middleton, Greater Manchester branch when we visited this week, including a 64-plate R450 6x2/2 Streamline (pictured above).

It comes with a Highline twin sleeper cab, two-pedal Opticruise gearbox with hill hold, enhanced air deflector kit and luxury air suspension driver’s seat.There is also a pull-out bunk, side skirts, twin fuel tanks and sliding fifth wheel.

Also on the forecourt was this 2013 Scania R440 6x2/2 Streamline. The 63-plate truck with Topline cab includes the two-pedal Opticruise gearbox, side skirts and twin alloy fuel tanks. It comes with a fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee maker and Scania C200 communicator with online fuel reporting and driver support.

Also on display was a R440 6x2 tag axle tractor unit from 2012.The 62-plate truck features trip computer with driver support and online fuel reporting, a 14-speed manual gearbox as well as PTO equipment with two-line hydraulics.There is a headlight upgrade with LED daytime running lights, bumper spot/foglamps, rear-mounted batteries and 44-tonne fixed fifth wheel.
