Construction starts on new site for Northside in Lincoln

Work has begun on a new £2m dealership for the Mercedes-Benz dealer Northside Truck & Van at Stallingborough, in north Lincolnshire.

The new dealership is scheduled to open in December, and will retail new and Approved Used Trucks and vans from Mercedes-Benz and Fuso Canter. Onsite will be a 10-bay workshop, and an Authorised Testing Facility (ATF) for trucks.

Chris Mansell, general manager at the Immingham site, said: “We’ve been searching for the right site for a new, purpose-designed dealership since we moved into this area. The fact that construction work is now underway is great news, not only for local operators but also for our hard-working staff.

“It demonstrates the level of effort, commitment and investment Northside is making to provide truck and van customers across this important area with the exacting levels of service for which Mercedes-Benz is renowned.”

M25 delays after BP fuel tanker blaze
Operators are being advised to avoid the M25 near Potters Bar today after a BP fuel tanker caught fire this morning (8 August).Firefighters were called to the westbound M25 between junction 25 (Cheshunt) and junction 24 (Potters Bar) at around 6.30am.Six fire engines attended the tanker and contained the fire to the cab. DSA warns learner drivers of copycat test booking websites
The DSA has warned would-be professional drivers not to book driving tests via anything other that its official website, as there are copycat websites charging a premium for test bookings.“It’s unacceptable that some of these websites try to trick learner drivers into paying an extra fee to book their driving test,” said Alastair Peoples, DSA chief executive.
