Crewe-based bulk haulier Cooper Buckley has taken delivery of three Euro-6 MAN TGX tractor units as part of its fleet replacement programme.

The TGX 480hp trucks have all entered operation and are servicing a contract with a breakfast cereals and oats producer. Another unit will be available later this year should the haulier require it.

The operator will receive support from MAN dealer Beech’s Garage in Stoke-on-Trent and the marque now makes up 75% of the operator’s 35-strong fleet

The firm claims to have received an 8mpg return on the new additions for maximum bulk weight operations, which involve taking oat-feed to farms and delivering raw oats to processing plants.

MD Frank Buckley said: "We’re very pleased with initial fuel economy and we expect figures to improve over time. We also have a half-tonne extra payload compared to another truck manufacturer’s same-specification model we were considering."
