The leader of Trafford Council has visited the £9m purpose-built MAN Truck & Bus facility in the heart of his borough.
Councillor Sean Anstee’s tour of the site in Trafford Park, which opened in June 2009, was arranged through Wayne Jones at MAN Diesel and Turbo, who is also Vice-President of the Greater Manchester chamber of commerce.
Services provided by MAN Truck & Bus Manchester include new and used truck sales; parts sales; all makes’ parts and servicing; drive-in diagnostics lane; multi-vehicle diagnostic equipment and an ATF lane open five days a week.
There is also a dedicated ADR lane; brake testing facility; tacho bay; steam cleaning area; on site tailift servicing; trailer parts and servicing; MAN brand shop and special fitment centre (SFC).
A total of 85 people are employed at the site, from technicians to sales and administration staff.
“It is thanks to the investment of companies such as MAN Truck & Bus UK in Trafford Park that it continues to be positioned as one of Europe’s largest industrial parks”, Councillor Anstee (pictured right) said.
“With easy motorway, airport and train access from Trafford, together with the proposed expansion of the Metrolink system through Trafford Park, there really is no better place for local, national and multi-national companies to be based.”
David Ashworth, (pictured left) MAN Truck & Bus Manchester’ general manager aftersales, added: “I am delighted to say that in the last six years MAN in Manchester has been increasing its turnover year-on-year and has also increased the number of employees to reflect that growth.”
