County Antrim-based operator Fearghal McMullan, which trades as McMullan International, has been fined £1,500 with costs for offences that included breaching tachograph and drivers’ hours rules.

Coleraine Magistrates Court was told on 7 August that the charges followed an investigation by the Driver and Vehicle Agency (DVA) into trucks owed and operated by the firm, which is authorised to run eight vehicles and eight trailers under its O-licence.

McMullan was fined £1,500 on five charges relating to drivers’ hours and tachograph offences, one offence of failing to provide tracking data to the DVA, and for using an unauthorised operating centre.

McMullan, of Clough Road, Cushendall, was also ordered to pay an offender’s levy of £15 and £19 court costs.
