Oakham-based haulage firm CS Ellis has improved the efficiency of its in-house workshop after dealership Ford & Slater became its sole parts supplier.
Following discussions, the dealer group purchased the haulier’s entire parts stock, which included items for Daf and Scania trucks, as well as its trailers. Ford & Slater then created a comprehensive imprest stock holding to become the firm’s exclusive parts provider, improving part procurement times, administration and guaranteeing a saving on prices.
The deal will see CS Ellis supplied with a combination of Daf parts and TRP parts by Ford & Slater.
Charles Ellis, CEO at CS Ellis, said that with the support of the Ford & Slater Peterborough depot it had achieved cost savings on parts across its fleet.
“We’ve improved workshop efficiency because we have secured parts availability and don’t have to waste time sourcing”, he said.
