Pre-tax profit rise for Tuffnells Parcels Express

Pre-tax profit has shot up 57.6% to £7.2m at Tuffnells Parcels Express, despite a slight drop in turnover. Turnover at the firm, famous for its Big Green Parcel Machine branding, fell 4% to £95.57m from £99.56m for the year ended 31 December 2009. Pre-tax profit rose to £7.2m from £4.59m in 2008. A public inquiry has heard how a hualage boss ran two trucks on another firm's O-licence after his own company had gone into liquidation.
