CV Show 2014: Hendrickson to reveal lighter mid-lift axles

Axle manufacturer Hendrickson will use the CV Show to reveal its next generation of lighter mid-lift axles.

The new axles are 63kgs lighter, explained European MD Mark Page, for 22.5-, 19.5- and 17.5-inch wheels. “UK sales growth has been in double digits, with an increasing number of customers choosing Hendrickson’s innovative smaller wheel sizes to allow additional payload and increased packaging flexibility,” he said.

Page further added that the MLA2 can reduce unladen weight by up to 200kg on a typical OEM unit by eliminating the need for a second steered axle.

The CV Show takes place at the Birmingham NEC between 29 April and 1 May.

Wheel flew off truck travelling down A9

The O-licence of Dingwall-based Mackenzie Haulage (Highland) has been cut after a wheel flew off one of its trucks as it travelled down the A9.In an oral decision following a PI in Inverness on 6 March the traffic commissioner (TC) for Scotland, Joan Aitken (pictured), curtailed the firm’s licence indefinitely from 19 vehicles and 19 trailers to five vehicles and 10 trailers from 31 March.
