Haultech has teamed up with SmartWitness to launch a low cost forward facing camera that costs just £49 to install and £20 per month to send live video images of an incident direct to the fleet manager.

The KP1 incident camera has a built in SIM card that transmits compressed images cost effectively as well as two SD card slots to allow up to 88 hours recording. It also includes a GPS device to provide the location and time of any incident and basic vehicle tracking.

When the G-force sensor or the driver panic button in the KP1 is activated, up to 20 still images are immediately dispatched to the TrakMan LiveO fleet management software.

Managers receive an immediate alert of the incident, which they can review quickly for necessary action and at the click of a button they can play back a 20 -second video clip of the incident - there's no waiting for the driver to report an event, or the vehicle having to return to base to remove the SD memory card for analysis.

The KP1 can accept a feed from a second, rear facing camera if required.
